The historic Raymond Store Cabins, in central Boulder County, are surrounded by scenic beauty and outdoor recreational opportunities, making it a prime destination for hiking, snowshoeing, biking, rock-climbing, and touring ghost towns while being close to restaurants, shops, museums, and several vibrant cultural scenes. Your base camp while visiting Rocky Mountain National Park, Estes Park, Lyons, Boulder, Longmont, Nederland, and Eldora Mountain Ski Resort offers the perfect stay for big adventures in winter, spring, summer, and fall.
Our four (4) cabins are in Raymond, Colorado, along the middle fork of the South St. Vrain River. These cabins are nestled in the secluded hamlet (population: 60 people) close to the Peak to Peak Highway, Brainard Lake, and Rocky Mountain National Park. Savor the fresh mountain air while relaxing on a furnished patio along the St. Vrain River, surrounded by wildflowers and the soothing sounds of the flowing river while you watch for passing wildlife. Plan an evening in; each cabin has an assortment of board games, books, and puzzles.
Secure high-speed WiFi is provided inside and outside. Each cabin features original art and photography and intriguing antique artifacts. All cabins have cooking facilities ranging from a kitchenette to a full-size kitchen. Sit on your patio with a cup of coffee and your phone, watch for elk and moose, and take in the picturesque mountain views. In the evening, snuggle into a sweater or coat with an evening cocktail while you gaze up at the night sky to find your favorite constellation.
NIGHTLY LODGING RATES: Starting at $130 a night.
ROCKY MOUNTAIN NATIONAL PARK is a year-round recreation haven with hiking, fishing, wildlife viewing, biking, and in winter snowshoeing and cross-country skiing. In the summer, plan a drive along Trail Ridge Road Scenic Byway. It's one of Colorado's most popular roads; this 48-mile route is America's highest continuous highway. It connects Estes Park and Grand Lake. Watch the trees disappear once the road reaches timberline and look for Milner Pass, where the road crosses the Continental Divide. You will usually find snow near the summit (even in July) where you can have a snowball fight with the kids.
ELDORA MOUNTAIN RESORT is in the southwest corner of Boulder County above Nederland. Since 1962, Eldora's 680 acres of skiable terrain, with a vertical drop of 1,240 feet and a variety of trails, cater to all skill levels, making it popular for skiers and snowboarders. The Nordic Center has 25 miles of scenic trails for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. The resort provides lessons, rentals, and a variety of programs to enhance your experience.
RESTAURANTS, SHOPPING and FAMILY FRIENDLY FUN: Allenspark (6 miles), RMNP's Wild Basin Trailhead (11 miles), Lyons (14 miles), Estes Park (22 miles), Eldora Ski Resort (28 miles), and historic downtown Boulder (30 miles).
LOCATION: Raymond Store Cabins is off-the-beaten-path in north central Colorado, nestled in Colorado's Front Range just down the road from SH 7 between Lyons and Estes Park near the Peak to Peak Historic and Scenic Byway, which connects Central City to Estes Park; a 55-mile route offers stunning views of the Continental Divide and access to various attractions, including Brainard Lake Recreation Area, historic mining ghost towns, and Indian Peaks Wilderness Area. In fall, the route's mountainside offers golden aspen foliage in every direction!
